SEPARATING THE REAL FROM THE FALSE

Lesson #2
A few years ago at an upper room type meeting in Cincinnati, Ohio an excited brother yelled out, "Yea, saith the Lord, thou art some confusion in this place.  Matter of fact, I am somewhat confused myself."  Now my friends when God gets confused at your church you  have really got confusion.
I said all of that to let my readers know that people today are so confused about last day prophecy that they don't study it any more or have just turned it off completely.  To cut them some slack, multitudes don't know anything about it.  This was brought on partly because a few decades ago the so-called faith teachers lost their way to the back of the book.  In reality they couldn't find a way to balance their get rich schemes with the fire and brimstone of the book of Revelation.
In 2nd Peter, Chapter Two and (v-19) we read, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy: whereunto ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your heart:"  (V-20) "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."  (V-21) "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
In Chapter 2: 1-3 we find these words, (V-1) "But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that brought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."  (V-2) "And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."  (V-3) "And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment of a long time lingered not, and their damnation slumbered not."
Now in closing, I think we will take a look at what Paul wrote in his second letter to Timothy in Chapter Four verses 1-5.  (V-1) "I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;"  (V-2) "Preach the word; be instant in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."  (V-3)"  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;" (V-4)"  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned to fables."  (V-5) "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."
My dear reader, you may not want to admit it, but as you sit and flip through those so-called Christian channels you probably have stared right into the gold digging eyes of at least one or more of these fake prophets and false teachers .  I hope this post will help you to separate the real from the false so that you will not be among the deceived for the great falling away is upon us!
